This is the default file name for a Recording.

The %1 feature can be used to substitute values into a file name to ensure that each file is unique. When %1 is entered in the Default Recording File Name field, the text in the Default Recording File Name field will be the name of the file, but %1 in the file name will be replaced by the next available default recording number. The recording number comes from the Code field from the Recording table. The default recording number will increment by one for each recording that is created.

For example, if "CreateSalesOrder" is entered in the Default Recording File Name field, the first file created will be named CreateSalesOrderESR00001. The value ESR00001 comes from the default recording number established in Easy Security. The second file created will be CreateSalesOrderESR00002.

The text portion of the file name can be changed to provide recordings with a more meaningful name to better identify the task that is being recorded. The substitute code can be located anywhere in the file name.

If the Recording Company Identifier field on the Role Builder tab is also populated, this text will be added to the default recording number. For example, if USA is entered as the Recording Company Identifier field in the example above, the file name will be CreateSalesOrderESR00001-USA.
